From the 5 to 8 of February menac was at the European Youth Centre in Budapest for a preparatory meeting for our study session World Perspectives: Minority Voices that is taking place 21-28 April this year.
During the six-day workshop, the participants will get theoretical logic training, study how the international news media portrays issues affecting minorities, migrants and refugees and learn through practice based training. They will get the tools to critically analyse different forms of news media and also to further develop their own skills to more effectively participate in the creation of responsible media.
During the busy two days we drafted the programme, planned sessions and, most importantly, short-listed the candidates! We are happy to tell you that we have received over 120 applications and our goal is to give a final decision within two weeks, but it was truly a difficult job as the applications were very good!
The project is a cooperation between menac, Minority Rights Group, Concordia International Group and the Youth Department of the Council of Europe and will bring together 26 young media-makers from around the globe.
